COVID-19 Update

11.24.20

As of November 24, we have six residents and two employees that have tested positive for COVID-19 as of today. The residents are quarantined and receiving dedicated care from their physician and our team. Our employees are no longer working and will not return until they have cleared all CDC guidelines.

Due to Kandiyohi County’s case rate rising and above 15%, we are testing our staff members and residents two times per week. This may cause case numbers to fluctuate due to the high volume of testing.

Thank you for your positive thoughts and prayers. We are proud to announce that thirteen residents have recovered and have transitioned from our COVID-19 unit to our “well” unit. We are pleased to welcome back at this point four staff members who met all CDC guidelines to return to work this week.

For now, we cannot allow indoor visits except for essential caregivers and compassionate care visits. However, we are happy to schedule a phone call, virtual visit, outdoor visit or window visit for you and your loved one. If you would like to schedule a time, please call (320) 354-2231.

We will continue to update you on the status of our facility. We can’t thank you enough for your kind words and the support you’ve shown to the residents and staff at GlenOaks Senior Living.

6.5.20

The wellbeing of our residents and staff is our utmost priority, and we do not take our responsibility to protect against COVID-19 lightly. While the Governor’s order does take steps to re-open business in Minnesota, our mission to protect our residents remains our priority. Many of our residents are considered “high risk” for contracting the virus. Therefore, we will not be able to welcome visitors back into our facility at this time.

As a nursing and rehabilitation facility, we are still mandated by CMS to restrict visitation. The greatest COVID-19 risk comes from the movement of persons into and out of our facility, so until we receive further clarification from CMS, visitation restrictions will remain in place. In the meantime, we will continue to evaluate our residents’ health statuses and needs. We will warmly welcome visitors as soon as the Minnesota Department of Health, Minnesota Healthcare Association, Department of Inspection and Appeals, our Governor and our medical director believe it is safe.

We are very sorry for the prolonged disconnection with family members. We understand this is a difficult time for our residents and their families, and please know we are dedicated to keeping you connected with your loved ones during this time. We are still here to facilitate phone calls or video chats.

If you would like to schedule a phone call or virtual call with your family member, we encourage you to reach out at the following link or call (320) 354-2231 during regular business hours Monday – Friday.
